SICCI has called on relevant authorities to take immediate action on the deteriorating traffic situation and road conditions in Honiara.
Businesses across the capital report significant disruptions to operations, employee attendance, and logistics due to congestion, particularly during peak hours. The impact on small and medium enterprises is especially severe.
“Reliable road infrastructure is foundational to economic activity. Delays cost businesses money, time, and competitive advantage. We urge the relevant authorities to treat this as a priority,” said Ben Bilua, CEO of SICCI.
SICCI has formally raised these concerns through the SIG-Private Sector Advisory Group and will continue to advocate for infrastructure improvements.
