The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and the Papua New Guinea–Solomon Islands Business Council (PNGSIBC) are honoured to announce that Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Hon. James Marape and Solomon Islands Prime Minister Hon. Matthew Wale will be the keynote speakers opening the inaugural Papua New Guinea–Solomon Islands Investment Conference.
DATE: 19–20 August 2026
Heritage Park Hotel, Honiara
Theme: “From Opportunity to Investment: Building the PNG–Solomon Islands Growth Corridor.”
Prime Minister Marape’s confirmation marks a significant milestone for this historic bilateral conference and reflects the high-level commitment of both governments to strengthening economic cooperation between Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
Together, Prime Ministers Marape and Wale will set the tone for two days of high-level dialogue focused on turning the longstanding relationship between our two Melanesian nations into stronger trade, investment and commercial partnerships.

The Conference will bring together government leaders, investors, business executives, development partners and industry representatives to explore opportunities across key sectors including agriculture, fisheries, tourism, infrastructure, energy, financial services, transport connectivity and downstream processing.
With PNG businesses already holding significant investments in Solomon Islands, the Conference represents an important opportunity to build the next chapter of the PNG–Solomon Islands economic partnership — moving from opportunity to real investment, stronger businesses and shared prosperity.
Two nations. Two Prime Ministers. One shared vision for stronger economic partnership.
