Honiara - Plans to host the 14th Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum is taking shape following a fruitful discussion between Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry [SICCI] and Australia Pacific Islands Business Council.

A team from Australia Pacific Island Business Council, led by their Chairman Mr Simon Gorman travelled to Solomon and met with SICCI’s Chairlady Namoi Kaluae and SICCI CEO James Dolarii earlier this month.

SICCI described the meeting very successful and fruitful stating parties are now revising plans ahead of the 14th ASIBF which will be held later this year.

“We are pleased to get discussion going on the upcoming Solomon Islands Australia Business Forum. It’s just the start of this year 2025, but yes, we are moving things,” SICCI said in a statement.

The forum offers an unparalleled opportunity to forge strategic partnerships, engaging directly with local businesses and understanding the market dynamics first-hand to facilitate better investment decisions and collaborative ventures.

It provides attendees with valuable insights into the Solomon Islands’ economic landscape, including sector-specific opportunities in agriculture, tourism, and renewable energy as well as understanding the latest policy changes and regulatory frameworks that are crucial for businesses looking to enter or expand in the Solomon Islands.

The forum features discussion with key policymakers and industry experts, providing clarity on compliance requirements and investment incentives.

Last year, the Australia Pacific Islands Business Council and the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry successfully hosted the 13th Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum in Honiara from September 2 to 4th with a large participation from private and public sector.

Further details to this year’s Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum will be communicated to the public and private sector later this year. Both organizations look forward to hosting the 14th Business Forum in Brisbane, Australia.
