October 28th, Honiara - SICCI joins MAL, Fisheries and CSO representing Solomon Islands at SPC Food Systems Workshop for the Melanesia subregional workshop in Port Villa, Vanuatu 15 October. 

The workshop brings together public and private sector players from MSG countries - New Caledonia, PNG, Solomon Islands and Fiji for a 3 days high-level discussion of the revalidation and theory of exchange on the Pacific Islands Foods System Flagship program of Pacific Community (SPC). 

The 3 days’ workshop saw the engagement of all sectors in conducting the SWOT analysis of each countries system with the private sector emphasising the importance of having a healthy population is vital for the private sector. 

SICCI welcomes the outcome of the meeting to transform and build a resilient food system for the MSG member countries and particularly Solomon Islands. 

Solomon Islands private sector businesses mainly in the agribusiness sector are key players in our food system and supply chain.

SICCI look forward to work close with SIG counterpart MAL and Fisheries to drive the initiative to get private sector players into engaging in commercial sustainable agribusiness operations. 

CEO Mr. James Dolarii acknowledges SPC for recognising the important role SICCI plays regionally to be partners in contributing and shaping strategies and approaches build and resilient system on regional level.
