Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry [SICCI] is happy to be part of the Solomon Islands National Export Policy consultation process.
The consultation seeks to engage various stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector representatives and civil society to gather insights and foster dialogue on export related issues.
Chief Executive Officer of SICCI, Mr James Dolarii and SICCI’s Export Industry Development Officer Ms Freda Tekulu attended the consultation on behalf of the private sector.
Their expertise is seen as highly valuable and will help ensure the policy is comprehensive and well-aligned with the industry needs.
The proposed Solomon Islands National Export Policy is part of the Marketing Division within the Ministry of Commerce drive towards improving export activities within the country.
The ministry has engaged a consultant to develop the export policy and it was funded by Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat under the EU-Strengthening Pacific Intra-Regional and International Trade (SPIRIT) project.
This approach aims to ensure that the export policy is comprehensive and reflective of the needs and challenges faced by different sectors within the economy.
The consultant and the team have been here since 2nd -6th December 2024.
