This October, the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) is honoured to join partners and stakeholders in observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, reaffirming our collective commitment to the health and wellbeing of women and girls across the Solomon Islands.

Breast cancer remains a significant health concern affecting women in our communities and beyond. We recognize that early detection, timely screening, and access to appropriate care are essential to improving outcomes. Awareness, therefore, serves as a vital first step — and it is a responsibility we share.
This PinkTober, SICCI respectfully honours those bravely facing breast cancer, celebrates the survivors whose resilience inspires us, and remembers those whom we have lost with deep respect. We acknowledge the important work of health authorities, civil society organisations, and community leaders who continue to advance this cause.
We encourage all women and girls to prioritise their health through early and regular checks, and we invite families, employers, and communities to foster supportive environments in which women are empowered to seek screening and care without hesitation.
SICCI remains committed to working collaboratively with all partners in promoting awareness and supporting the wellbeing of our women and girls.

Cancer can be cured. Early detection and screening saves lives.
